Lou Holtz better watch out if he ever runs into Ryan Day. Minutes after a sensational last-second win over Notre Dame, the Ohio State head coach called Holtz out for some comments he made about the Buckeyes this week.

"I'd like to know where Lou Holtz is right now," Day said angrily in a post-game interview with NBC's Kathryn Tappen. "What he said about our team, what he said about our team, I cannot believe. This is a tough team right here. We're proud to be from Ohio. It's always been Ohio against the world... We've got a tough team."

So... what exactly did Lou Holtz say about Ohio State?

In short, the former Irish coach bemoaned the Buckeyes' ability to win big games under Day's leadership because it can't play physical against better teams.

"You look at Coach Day, and I coached at Ohio State under Woody Hayes," Holtz said on The Pat McAfee Show.

"We won the national championship when I was there. I'm proud of that. However, [Day] has lost to Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan twice. And everybody [that] beats him, does so because they are more physical than Ohio State. And I think Notre Dame will take that same approach."

Ohio State opened a 10-0 lead in the third quarter of a game low on points early on, but the Fighting Irish scored 14 unanswered points to take the lead late in regulation.

From there, the Buckeyes drove 65 yards in 15 plays over just 1 minute 25 seconds, weathered a near-interception and an intentional ground penalty, but pulled through as Chip Trayanum scored a 1-yard touchdown with 1 second left on the clock.
