Texas football: Coach shoots down Agiye Hall rumors
Agiye Hall will be enrolled at Texas and join the Longhorns this football season, according to Hall’s Team Tampa 7-on-7 coach Woodrow Grady.
That statement follows reports that the former Alabama transfer wide receiver had removed all mentions of the Longhorns from his social media accounts.
Hall also wasn't included on the official Texas football roster in recent days, which kicked off rumors that the receiver had second thoughts on playing for the team.
But as experts later confirmed, Hall wasn't on the roster because he didn't enroll for June classes, and players who enroll for the fall don't appear on the roster until May 31.
“People need to check [expletive] before they write [expletive],” Grady emphatically told 247Sports about the rumors. “That report was complete BS.”
Hall, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver, entered the college football transfer portal earlier this month after taking part in Alabama's spring practice this offseason.
Now, he joins second-year Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian and tight ends coach Jeff Banks, both of whom were involved in Hall's original recruitment to Alabama.
Hall had four catches for 72 yards last season, including two receptions for 52 yards during Alabama's loss to Georgia in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
Hall joins a Texas wide receiver room that includes presumptive No. 1 option Xavier Worthy, who caught 62 passes for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns a year ago.
Hall will face his former team in a major Week 2 home game against Alabama on Sept. 10.
