UCF football players wearing custom "QR codes" on jerseys for spring game

Spring games afford college football programs and players a unique way to spread their presence across social media, and UCF is doing that this year.
The school announced it will feature custom QR codes on the backs of players' jerseys during Saturday's spring football game.
A scan of each player's QR code with the camera on a smartphone will take the user to a biography page that includes social media handles, merchandise links, and charities, all of which is now allowed under college football's new NIL rules.
UCF’s spring game jerseys will have a QR code instead of a number on the back.

UCF released a video to show how the process works.

Of course, the look of this one-time jersey will strike many fans as ugly and strange, but it's also a unique way for schools and players to maximize their exposure and shows potential recruits that they're doing all they can in the new NIL market.
