A Positive Injury Update on Texas Rangers' 1B Nathaniel Lowe

The Texas Rangers, already dealing with a serious injury to slugger Josh Jung, appear to be getting closer to getting back slugging first baseman Nathaniel Lowe from an oblique issue.

Texas Rangers' slugger Nathaniel Lowe, who has missed the entire season with an oblique issue to this point, is getting closer and closer to returning.

Per Jeff Wilson of RangersToday on social media:

Nathaniel Lowe (oblique) took batting practice today as he moves closer to his 2024 debut. No timeline yet, but the week of April 15 seems reasonable.

That's certainly good news for the defending World Series champions, who are already dealing with a long-term injury to Josh Jung. If they are able to get Lowe back fairly quickly, they'll have almost the entire World Series lineup back together, minus Mitch Garver, who signed in Seattle this offseason.

The 28-year-old Lowe is headed into his sixth Major League season with the Tampa Bay Rays and Rangers. He got to Texas before the 2021 season and has immediately become a regular for Texas, playing in 157 or more games in each of the last three seasons.

The burly lefty hit .262 last season with 17 homers and 82 RBI. Lifetime, he's a .273 hitter with 73 homers and 260 RBI.

Even without him, the Rangers have one of the best lineups in all of baseball, complete with Adolis Garcia, Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Wyatt Langford and Evan Carter.

They are out to a 6-2 start this season and already lead the American League West. They'll take on the Houston Astros on Saturday night in a rematch of the ALCS from last year.

Jon Gray (0-0, 12.27 ERA) pitches for Texas against JP France (0-0, 4.76 ERA).
