Arizona Diamondbacks' Rookie Accomplishes Something No Player Has Ever Accomplished on Thursday

As Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks charges towards the National League Rookie of the Year award, he's put up a stat line that no player has ever replicated.

The Arizona Diamondbacks lost to the Chicago White Sox on Thursday afternoon 3-1.

The loss dropped Arizona to 84-75 on the year but they are still 1.5 games up in the battle for the second wild card.

They have a 2.0 game lead over the Chicago Cubs for a playoff spot in general.

In the loss, Diamondbacks' All-Star rookie Corbin Carroll went 2-for-4 with a triple. The presumptive National League Rookie of the Year favorite is hitting .287 with 25 home runs, 76 RBI and 52 stolen bases.

He's also made baseball history with his stat line this year.

Per the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

ANALYSIS
Carroll tripled in the third inning and came home on Ketel Marte's sacrifice fly. The triple was his 10th of the season, making him the first player in MLB history to record 10+ triples, 25+ home runs and 50+ stolen bases in a season.

The Diamondbacks will kick off the final series of the regular season on Friday night against the Houston Astros. The game has meaning to both teams. Arizona is in the second wild card spot while Houston is 1.0 game up in the battle for the third wild card spot in the American League.

First pitch is set for 9:40 p.m. ET as J.P. France (HOU) pitches against All-Star Zac Gallen.

France is 11-6 with a 3.83 ERA while Gallen is 17-8 with a 3.49.

For scoreboard watching purposes, the Cubs play the Brewers at 8:10 p.m. ET and the Marlins (in the third wild card spot) play the Pirates at 6:35 p.m. ET.
