The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 on Monday to force a winner-take-all Game 7 on Tuesday night in the NLCS.

The winner will head to the World Series. If the Diamondbacks win, it will be their first trip to the World Series since 2001. If the Phillies win, it will be their second trip in as many years.

D'Backs veteran Ketel Marte went 2-for-5 with two RBI in the win on Monday, continuing to make impressive baseball history.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

Ketel Marte has a 15-game hitting streak to start his postseason career, the tied for the longest hit streak to start a postseason career, with:

1995-96 Marquis Grissom

Grissom, the former Gold Glove outfielder, was a critical member of the Atlanta Braves teams of the mid-1990s that got to the World Series in both 1995 and 1996.

Also per Langs:

Ketel Marte has a 15-game hitting streak, tied for the 6th-longest in postseason history, behind only:

2003-04 Manny Ramírez: 17

1998-99 Derek Jeter: 17

1956-58 Hank Bauer: 17

2020-21 Michael Brantley: 16

1991-93 Pat Borders: 16

If the Diamondbacks get to the World Series, he'll have a chance to break that record in Game 3.

Marte is hitting .385 for his playoff career, having also made the playoffs in 2017 with the D'Backs.

The 30-year-old had another very productive season in Arizona, hitting .276 with 25 homers and 82 RBI. He stole eight bases and posted an .844 OPS.

Marte has spent part of nine seasons in the big leagues with the Mariners and Diamondbacks. Acquired from Seattle before the 2017 season, he's a lifetime .279 hitter with 107 home runs. He made the All-Star Game in 2019.
