Atlanta Braves Set New Mark For Fastest Team Ever to Reach This Milestone
The Atlanta Braves beat the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday at Coors Field by a score of 7-3.
The Braves got home runs from Orlando Arcia, Marcell Ozuna and Kevin Pillar in the win, continuing their historic home run pace this year.
Per ESPN Stats & Info:
The Braves have hit 250 home runs this season, their most in a season in franchise history (and it is still August).
They are the 2nd-fastest team to 250 HR in a season, trailing only the 2019 Twins (129 games).
The Braves have the deepest and most intimidating lineup in all of baseball, bolstered by superstar outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. It's because of that power that Atlanta is on a short list of potential World Series teams in the National League.
At 87-45, the Braves have the best record in baseball and they lead the Dodgers by 4.0 games for the potential No. 1 seed in the looming National League playoff picture.
In addition to the lineup, the Braves are also getting healthier on the mound. They just returned Max Fried from the injured list and are seeing progress on the rehab front from Kyle Wright, who was a 20-game winner last season.
The Braves open up a massive series with the Dodgers on Thursday night in Los Angeles in what could be an NLCS preview.
First pitch from Dodger Stadium is set for 10:10 p.m. ET as Spencer Strider (ATL) pitches against Lance Lynn (LAD).
Strider is 15-4 with a 3.46 ERA while Lynn is 10-9 with a 5.56.
