The Atlanta Braves fell to the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night in extra innings, 6-5. The loss dropped the Braves to a still National League best 57-28 and moved the Guardians to 42-43 on the season, one game behind the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central.

Though the Braves lost, it wasn't the fault of superstar Ronald Acuna Jr., who went 2-4 and continues to sizzle at the plate. The front-runner for the National League MVP is hitting .337 this year with 21 homers and 54 RBI. He's also stolen a whopping 41 bases while posting a 1.013 OPS.

The human highlight reel is making history seemingly every time he takes the field and he did it again on Tuesday.

Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Today marks the 13th consecutive game that Ronald Acuña Jr. of the @Braves has either hit a home run or stolen a base.

That's the longest streak by any MLB player in the modern era, surpassing the 12 straight by Oakland's Bert Campaneris in 1969 (entirely on stolen bases).

It was the stolen base for Acuna on Tuesday.

In addition to being the MVP front-runner, Acuna was also just named an All-Star for the National League.

The Braves will take on the Guardians again on Wednesday night as Mike Soroka pitches for Atlanta against Cal Quantrill.

Soroka is 1-1 with a 6.89 ERA while Quantrill is 2-5 with a 6.18.

After this, the Braves will be off on Thursday before closing out the first half of the season with a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Those are the two best teams in baseball and could serve as a World Series preview.
