The Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals on Thursday to move to 98-55 this season. As Atlanta roars towards 100 wins and the overall No. 1 seed in the National League playoffs, they made some awesome baseball history in multiple ways.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

The Braves have won 24 straight games when their starting pitcher goes at least 6 IP.

That breaks a tie with the 1935 Cubs and 1931 Philadelphia Athletics for the longest single-season streak since the mound went to its current distance in 1893.

Starting pitcher Max Fried went 6.0 innings on Thursday, surrendering one run on three hits. He walked one and struck out seven. Though he's battled injuries this year and has had two stints on the IL, Fried is 8-1 with a 2.55 ERA and is looking like a true ace heading into the playoffs.

In addition, superstar and MVP-favorite Ronald Acuna Jr. went 1-for-6 with a run scored. That run scored was a history maker for him as well.

Per Braves Insider Grant McAuley on social media:

#Braves Ronald Acuña Jr. is the first player in MLB to score 140 runs since Alex Rodriguez did so for the Yankees in 2007.

Acuna Jr. is now hitting .337 this year with the 140 runs scored, 39 home runs, 100 RBI and 68 stolen bases.

The Braves will take on the Nationals again on Friday night in Washington. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET as Charlie Morton (ATL) pitches against Patrick Corbin (WAS).
