Boston Red Sox Rookie Joining Rarified Air in Team History and Gets a Comparison to Barry Bonds

The Boston Red Sox beat the San Francisco Giants on Friday night 3-2.
The most impressive part of the game was a home run to left center field off the bat of Sox rookie Triston Casas, who had fouled a pitch off his leg just one pitch earlier.
In a game story written by Red Sox MLB.com reporter Ian Browne, it was pointed out that Casas is in a rare club in team history:
The only players in Red Sox history besides Casas to hit seven homers in a 12-game span at the age of 23 or younger?
Ted Williams, Tony Conigliaro, Mookie Betts, George Scott and Ellis Burks.
Casas has been incredibly hot out of the All-Star break, hitting .472 in that time.
After the game, Sox manager Alex Cora compared the Casas home run to none other than Barry Bonds.
“That home run to left-center,” said Cora. “I played here a lot of games and I saw one of the great ones dominating from like 2000 to 2004, and that ball [Casas] hit to left-center, that’s one of the best home runs I’ve seen here, and I saw many. I think I saw 500, 600, 700, 73 [in 2001 by Bonds], and that was a great swing.”
He's hitting .256 for the season with 16 homers and 40 RBI for the season. He's in his second season in Boston after debuting at the end of 2022.
After the win, the Red Sox remain 1.5 games out of the third and final wild card spot in the American League.
