Chicago Cubs Pitcher Jameson Taillon Does Something Not Done in Baseball Since 2006

The Chicago Cubs beat the New York Yankees on Friday night at Yankee Stadium, 3-0.
The win moved the Cubs to 41-46 while the loss dropped the Yankees to 48-41.
The Cubs were fueled on the mound by the performance of Jameson Taillon, who went eight scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and two walks. He struck out four.
The win moved him to 3-6 on the year and lowered his ERA to 6.15. The performance also earned him a rare spot in recent baseball history.
Per ESPN Stats & Info:
Jameson Taillon is the first pitcher with at least 8 IP & 1 or fewer hits allowed on the road at Yankee Stadium since the Orioles' Daniel Cabrera in 2006.
Only 2 other pitchers have done this since 1990, Bartolo Colon in 2000 & Pedro Martínez in 1999.

That's an impressive group to be included with, especially since Martinez and Colon are former Cy Young winners. It's also a nice turnaround for Taillon, who has really struggled during his first year on the North Side.
He's in his seventh year in the big leagues with the Pirates, Yankees, and Cubs and owns a lifetime 54-41 record and a 4.03 ERA.
For the Yankees, Carlos Rodon made his first start of the year, going 5.1 innings and allowing two runs on four hits.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. ET. Drew Smyly pitches for the Cubs while Gerrit Cole goes for the Yankees.
Smyly is 7-5 while Cole is 8-2.
