Cincinnati Reds Rookie Elly De La Cruz Continues to Make Team History in First Week

Cincinnati Reds rookie infielder Elly De La Cruz has only been in the major leagues for a week, but he continues to make team history -- and baseball history -- seemingly every time he takes the field.
The latest historical achievement? That came in Sunday's game and was reported via ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter:
At 21 years, 151 days, Elly De La Cruz is the youngest Red to reach base 4 times in a game since Jay Bruce on June 6, 2008.

That's a rare club in team history to join, as evidenced by the fact that it hasn't happened in 15 years.
De La Cruz went 2-3 with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI in a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
He's now hitting .364 with a homer, four RBI and three stolen bases in his first 22 at-bats. He's also got a 1.117 OPS thus far.
One of the most exciting prospects in recent baseball memory, he's currently rated as the No. 4 prospect in the game by MLB.com.
Entering play on Monday, the Reds are 31-35 and four games back in the National League Central.
They trail the Pittsburgh Pirates by four games for first place and the Milwaukee Brewers by three games for second place.
The Reds and De La Cruz will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Kansas City to take on the Royals. Luke Weaver will take the ball for Cincinnati while Zack Greinke toes the rubber for the Royals.
