The Colorado Rockies got embarrassed by the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night, losing 25-1. That game made history in plenty of ways for the Angels, which you can read about here.

However, the Rockies won the series by winning the rubber match on Sunday by a score of 4-3.

With the win of the series, the Rockies made some baseball history by doing something that has never been done in the Modern Era.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

the Rockies are the 2nd team all-time to win a series of any length with a run differential of -20 or worse, joining:

the Louisville Colonels in June 1897 vs the Chicago Colts -- Louisville won 2 of 3 games despite being outscored 45-22 (-23)

Even when including all of baseball history, this is only the second time that's happened? Absolutely incredible.

Austin Gomber got the win for the Rockies, going five innings and allowing two runs while striking out three. Four Rockies relievers combined to lock down the rest of the afternoon.

As for the Rockies offense, rookie Ezequiel Tovar went 2-4 with a homer while Randall Grichuk and Jorge Alfaro each had doubles.

With the win, the Rockies are now 31-49 on the season. That is the second-worst winning percentage in all of the National League, just ahead of the Washington Nationals.

The Rockies will be off Monday before hosting the division rival Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday at Coors Field. First pitch is slated for 8:40 p.m. ET as Clayton Kershaw pitches against Connor Seabold.
