In this story:

Detroit Tigers pitcher Alex Faedo was dealing on Thursday night.

Pitching against the Chicago White Sox, Faedo went six innings, allowing three hits, two runs, and no walks. He also had 10 strikeouts.

In putting up a line of that caliber, he did something that only two other pitchers in franchise history have ever done.

ESPN Stats & Info had more information on Twitter:

Alex Faedo is the 3rd Tigers pitcher in franchise history with 10 K, 0 BB and 3 or fewer hits allowed joining Denny McLain (1965) and Aníbal Sánchez (2014)

A very impressive night for Faedo, and clearly his best night as a major leaguer. The Tigers beat the White Sox, 7-2, so Faedo moved to 1-2 on the season with a 4.15 ERA. That's the second win of his major league career, as he's now 2-7.

In addition to the great pitching of Faedo, the team has gotten a home run from Akil Baddoo and two hits each from Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 23-25 while the White Sox dropped to 21-31 with the loss. Because the American League Central is so mediocre, Detroit is only 2.0 games behind Minnesota for first place. The White Sox, who have now won seven of their last 10 games, are six games back.

The two teams will play again on Friday night at Comerica Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET as Lance Lynn pitches for Chicago against Joey Wentz.
