The Houston Astros beat the Oakland Athletics on Friday night, 6-4.

It was the second straight win in Oakland for the defending world champs, who are now 55-43 and just 3.0 games back in the American League West.

The Astros win was propelled by All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker, who hit three home runs and drove in four runs. He homered in the first inning and the fifth inning, and then connected again in the seventh inning.

With his three homer effort, Tucker joined a special club in team history over the last 20 years.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Kyle Tucker is the 3rd Astros player with a 3 HR game on the road over the last 20 seasons. He joins Yordan Alvarez and Carlos Lee.

While the Astros get a lot of grief for playing at home with the friendly "Crawford Boxes" in left field, Tucker clearly doesn't need them.

The star outfielder is now hitting .303 this season with 17 homers and 68 RBI. He's also stolen 17 bases and posted a .380 on-base percentage and he's helped carry the offense in the wake of lengthy injury absences to Jose Altuve, Michael Brantley and Yordan Alvarez.

The former first-round pick (2015) is a lifetime .275 hitter with 90 homers and 324 RBI.

In addition to the Astros only trailing in the division by 3.0 games, they are now in sole possession of the second wild card spot in the American League, 1.0 game ahead of the Blue Jays, who are in the third spot.

The Astros and A's will play again on Saturday. First pitch is 9:07 p.m. ET.
