Houston Astros Accomplish Even More Longball History Than You Think in Series with Texas Rangers

The Houston Astros pummeled the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night, bashing the ball all over the Globe Field Field confines in a lopsided 12-3 affair.
In the win, the Astros hit five home runs, including getting a grand slam from Jose Abreu. The slugger hit two shots on the night, joining Yordan Alvarez, Michael Brantley and Chas McCormick as guys to go deep.
The Astros hit 16 home runs in the three-game series, which is the most in their franchise history, but they also tied some baseball history too.

With the win, the Astros are 80-61 and lead the American League West by 1.0 game over the Seattle Mariners. As a result of the loss, the Rangers are now 3.0 games back in the division race. Texas has currently fallen out of the wild card race entirely as well, training Toronto by 0.5 games for the third and final spot.
The Astros are off on Thursday but they will look to hit the five-homer mark again on Friday night when they open up a series with the San Diego Padres.
First pitch from MinuteMaid Park is set for 8:10 p.m. ET as Hunter Brown (HOU) goes up against Blake Snell (SD).
Brown is 10-10 with a 4.53 ERA while Snell is 12-9 with a 2.50.
