Ohtani is having an incredible season for the Angels and is trending towards winning his second American League MVP award in the last three years. His home run was his 44th. He's now hitting .305 this season with the 44 homers and 91 RBI. He's added 17 stolen bases and a 1.074 OPS.
Unfortunately, the pitching side has been problematic for him over the last month, as he's battled blisters and arm fatigue. He's 10-5 this season with a 3.14 ERA.
He's struck out a blistering 167 batters in 132 innings.
The Angels lost that game, 9-4, to fall to 61-66 on the year.
They are taking on the Reds again on Wednesday night in the completion of a doubleheader at Angels Stadium.
They'll be off on Thursday before starting a weekend series in New York with the Mets.
First pitch on Friday night is 7:10 p.m. ET. The Mets will send rookie Kodai Senga to the mound while the Halos haven't announced a pitcher yet.
