Los Angeles Dodgers' Freddie Freeman Does Something That No Dodgers Player Has Ever Done

Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman just keeps on hitting in a way that no player in team history ever has.

At the time of this posting, the Los Angeles Dodgers lead the Texas Rangers, 16-3, in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Dodgers have been led by star Freddie Freeman, who is 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. He's also hit two home runs in the game, making some Dodgers franchise history.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Freddie Freeman is the 1st player in Dodgers history with 20 HR and 35 doubles before August.

For an organization with a great Hall of Famer like Mike Piazza and sluggers like Gary Sheffield and Adrian Beltre having played in it, that's quite an accomplishment.

Freeman is having a fantastic season for LA, hitting .328 with 20 homers and 70 RBI. He's also posted 12 stolen bases and a .993 OPS.

Lifetime, he's a .300 hitter with 312 homers and 1,111 RBI. He is a seven-time All-Star, a three-time Silver Slugger winner, a Gold Glove winner, an MVP and a 2021 World Series champion.

If the Dodgers go onto to win this game, they'll go to 57-40 on the season. They are in first place in the National League West. If the Rangers falter, they'll go to 58-41. They remain in first place in the American League West, but the Houston Astros are gaining ground.

The two teams will play again on Sunday afternoon at Globe Life Field, with first pitch slated for 2:35 p.m. ET.

Dodgers rookie Emmet Sheehan will pitch against Rangers veteran Martin Perez.

Sheehan is 3-0 with a 4.91 ERA on the year while Perez is 7-3 with a 4.84 ERA.
