At the time of this posting, the Los Angeles Dodgers are leading the Philadelphia Phillies, 9-0, in the top of the ninth inning.

That means that Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller is in line for the win.

The rookie went six scoreless innings, surrendering just three hits and three walks while striking out seven. His ERA now for the year is 0.78.

With the strong effort, Miller made some baseball history.

Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Bobby Miller of the @Dodgers is the only MLB pitcher in the modern era to toss 5.0+ innings while allowing no more than 4 hits and no more than 1 run in each of his first 4 career appearances.

If and when Miller gets the win, he'll move to 3-0 on the season. He's struck out 23 batters in 23 innings. He's tossed six innings in each of his last three starts (against the Phillies, Yankees and Nationals).

Because he hasn't pitched enough yet to exhaust his prospect eligibility, he is still the No. 2 overall prospect in the Dodgers organization, and the highest-ranked pitcher.

A first-round draft pick out of Louisville in 2020, he is also the No. 19 prospect in all of baseball, per the MLB.com rankings.

Assuming the Dodgers hold on for the win, they'll go to 37-28 on the season while a loss will drop the Phillies to 31-33.

The two teams will finish out the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. The Dodgers haven't named a starter yet while the Phillies will counter with Taijuan Walker.
