Los Angeles Dodgers Slugger Joins Elite List of Home Run Hitters on All-Time List

Max Muncy now has four different 30-home run seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers, joining rare company.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Boston Red Sox on Saturday afternoon by a score of 8-5, but that didn't stop Dodgers veteran slugger Max Muncy from making team history by hitting a home run.

Per @MLB on social media:

By reaching the 30-HR mark for the 4th time, Max Muncy joins an exclusive list of @Dodgers with at least 4 seasons of 30+ HR:

Gil Hodges (6)

Duke Snider (6)

Eric Karros (5)

Mike Piazza (4)

Roy Campanella (4)

Muncy isn't hitting for much average this year (just .197) but he has been no slouch in the power department, connecting on his 30 home runs and bringing in 82 runs.

He hit at least 30 home runs in 2018, 2019 and 2021, in addition to this year. He also hit 12 homers in the 2020 COVID year and hit 21 in 2022.

For his career, he's got 174 home runs and 466 RBI. He's in his eighth big league season with the Dodgers and Athletics.

After the Saturday loss, the Dodgers are now 79-49 this season. They lead the National League West by 12.0 games over the Arizona Diamondbacks and are racing out to another National League West crown.

Along with the Braves, they are the favorites to represent the National League in the World Series.

The Dodgers and Red Sox will finish out their series on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.

First pitch is set for 1:35 p.m. ET as Tanner Houck (BOS) pitches against Caleb Ferguson (LAD).

Houck is 3-7 while Ferguson is 7-3.
