Miami Marlins' Luis Arraez Joins Hall of Famer in Baseball History
Miami Marlins infielder Luis Arraez, acquired from the Minnesota Twins this offseason, is paying major dividends.
Arraez went 3-4 on Monday in a 9-6 win over the Kansas City Royals. He also drove in two and scored a run. Arraez is now hitting an absurd .399 this season.
He's also making baseball history, joining George Brett in a very exclusive club.
Per ESPN Stats & Info:
Luis Arraez is the 1st player to record 10 hits and 8 RBI despite having zero HR over a 3-game span since George Brett for the Royals in August 1990.
These are the only two instances of this happening over the last 50 years.
Any time you can join George Brett in a hitting group -- and any time you are the only instances of it happening in the last 50 years -- you're doing something right.
His bat-to-ball skills are elite. In 208 at-bats this year, Arraez has just 11 strikeouts. He's also got one home run and 29 RBIs.
For his career, he's a .325 hitter with 15 homers and 161 RBI. He won a batting title in the American League in 2022 with the Twins, hitting .316. He made his major league debut in 2019.
With the win, the Marlins are now a surprising 33-28 on the season. They have won eight of their last 10 and are just 3.0 games back of the first-place Braves in the National League East.
The two teams will play again on Tuesday at 6:40 pm. ET.
