The Miami Marlins are quietly putting together one of the best seasons in baseball this year.

After beating the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday by a score of 4-1, the Marlins are now 38-31 and just 4.5 games out of first place in the National League East. They've won seven of their last 10.

While most of the Marlins conversation centers on if Luis Arraez can hit .400 this season, we should be talking about young pitcher Eury Perez.

The 20-year-old made his debut this year and has made Marlins history through his first seven starts by posting a 1.80 ERA, which is the lowest in team history through the first seven starts of a career.

For an organization that has seen Livan Hernandez, Josh Beckett, AJ Burnett and others come through, that's a high achievement for Perez.

He got the win on Wednesday in Seattle, tossing six scoreless innings and registering six strikeouts.

He's now 4-1 on the season.

Because he hasn't pitched enough to exhaust his prospect eligibility, Perez is still the No. 6 prospect in all of baseball behind only:

1) Jordan Walker, St. Louis Cardinals

2) Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers

3) Jackson Holliday, Baltimore Orioles

4) Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds

5) Marcelo Mayer, Boston Red Sox

In addition to Perez's good work on the mound, the Marlins won thanks to a game-saving catch by Jesus Sanchez, who robbed a potential game-tying grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning. You can see the play here.

The Marlins will play the Nationals on Friday at 7:05 p.m. ET.
