New York Yankees' Aaron Judge on Pace to Make History and Set Major League Record in May
It's well documented that New York Yankees star Aaron Judge is one of the best players in the game. He won the MVP in 2022 after hitting an American League record 62 home runs and he hasn't stopped in 2023.
In fact, Judge is such a force that he's currently on pace to set a record and make some major league history.
Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:
The @Yankees Aaron Judge has a 2.089 OPS on the road this month, which would be the highest such mark in the modern era (minimum 30 PA).
Currently, the best road OPS for a single month in the modern era is 1.838 by Babe Ruth in August 1924.
Any time you can pass Babe Ruth on any list and any time you can do something that hasn't been done in nearly 100 years, we're impressed.
Entering play on Wednesday, Judge is hitting .303 with 18 home runs and 39 RBI. He missed some earlier in May with a hip issue but is certainly healthy now.
One of the most powerful hitters of this generation, Judge is a lifetime .285 hitter with 238 homers and 536 RBI.
He's been named to the American League All-Star team in four different seasons, has won the Rookie of the Year, is a three-time Silver Slugger winner and won the aforementioned MVP.
He'll get a chance to continue his road dominance on Wednesday night when the Yankees finish up a series against the Seattle Mariners.
First pitch is 9:40 p.m. ET.
