The New York Yankees beat the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, 6-3, to move to 49-41 on the season.

In the win, the Yankees got two home runs from Giancarlo Stanton, as well as a homer from Josh Donaldson. They also got a fantastic pitching performance from Gerrit Cole, who went 7.1 innings while allowing three runs and striking out five.

But it was Stanton and his home run prowess that caught the eye of MLB.com researcher Sarah Langs, who put this note out on Twitter:

GIANCARLO STANTON

That’s his 13th HR with a 118+ mph exit velocity tracked by Statcast (2015, including playoffs)

Nobody else has more than 5 (Aaron Judge)

And nobody other than Judge even has more than 1

In fact, Stanton has 13 such HR… all others have 13 combined!!

Translation? Nobody hits the ball harder than Stanton does. He's hitting just .208 this year with nine homers and 23 RBI, but he did spend a significant amount of time on the injured list with a hamstring problem.

Lifetime, Stanton is closing in on multiple milestones. He's 13 homers away from 400 and he's six RBI away from 1,000.

The Yankees are currently tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for the final spot in the American League wild card picture.

They'll wrap up the first half of the season on Sunday at 1:35 when they battle the Cubs again.

Kyle Hendricks (3-3, 2.64 ERA) will go for Chicago while Domingo German (5-5, 4.52 ERA) will pitch for New York.
