New York Yankees on Wrong Side of Even More Bad History After Loss to Angels

The New York Yankees suffered a historic loss on Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, and then suffered a historic loss on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels.
And as a result, the Yankees are in a spot that they haven't been in for the last 30-plus of their history!
Per ESPN Stats & Info:
The Yankees are in sole possession of last place in the AL East through 95 games for the first time since 1990.

Now, in fairness to the Yankees, the American League East is the best division in baseball history, statistically, so being in last place there still makes the Yankees one of the better teams in baseball.
New York is currently 50-45 and 9.0 games back in the division, and 2.5 back in the wild card.
While the Yankees have fallen in the standings, there are some reasons for optimism. First, the team just got back starting pitcher Carlos Rodon, who had been out the entire season with injury.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, manager Aaron Boone told the Talkin' Yanks Podcast that Aaron Judge is "very close" to coming back and could even be back by next week.
The Yankees will take on the Los Angeles Angels again on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 9:38 p.m. ET as Domingo German gets the ball. Patrick Sandoval will pitch for the Angels.
German enters the game at 5-5 with a 4.32 ERA. He also threw a perfect game earlier this season, the first since 2012. Sandoval is 4-7.
