Dating back to the 2023 season, New York Yankees' star Juan Soto has now reached base safely in 38 consecutive games, which is the best in all of baseball.

The New York Yankees remained unbeaten on Monday night, beating the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 5-2 at Chase Field.

The Yankees are now 5-0 after sweeping the Houston Astros and beating the D'Backs. Arizona fell to 3-2 with the loss.

In the win, Gleyber Torres went 2-for-5 with an RBI while Anthony Volpe went 4-for-4. He's now hitting .571 through five games.

Though he didn't register a hit, newest Yankee Juan Soto made an impact, getting on base twice via two walks. By doing that, he extended a league-leading streak dating back to last season.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com on social media:

Juan Soto has reached base safely in a career-high 38 straight games dating to last season, the longest active streak in MLB

In that span:

.360 BA
.479 OBP
.676 SLG
12 HR
37 RBI

Soto is hitting .450 in the early-going and continues to be a menace at the top of the lineup. One of the most productive players in baseball over the last several years, he's already a multi-time All-Star, a batting champion and a World Series champion (2019). Heading into his free agent year, Soto is doing his best to earn the biggest payday in MLB history aside from Shohei Ohtani. With a great year, he could push the $500 million mark next offseason.

The Yankees and Diamondbacks will play again on Tuesday night with their Opening Day starters going for the second time.

Nestor Cortes (0-0, 7.20) pitches for New York while Zac Gallen (1-0, 1.80) gets the ball for the defending NL champions.
