Texas Rangers and Philadelphia Phillies Linked in Baseball History Heading into Thursday's LCS Action
The Texas Rangers lost on Wednesday night in Game 3 of the ALCS, but despite the loss, they still have the series lead over the Houston Astros.
Wednesday's loss was actually the first loss of the playoffs for Texas, who won its first seven games in October.
With their hot streak, they are linked in baseball history with this year's Philadelphia Phillies, who are also dominating this month.
Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:
the Rangers’ win streak ends, but they won 7 of their first 8 games this postseason
so did the Phillies
this is the 1st time that TWO teams have done that in a single postseason

The Rangers swept the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild card round, then took all three from the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS before taking the first two from Houston. As for the Phillies, they swept the Marlins in the wild card round before taking three of four from the Braves.
They've taken the first two games of the series in the NLCS from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Phillies are looking for a return trip to the World Series after having made it a season ago. They are looking for their first title since 2008.
Both teams will be in action again on Thursday.
The NLCS Game 3 in Phoenix will be played at 5:07 p.m. ET while the ALCS Game 4 will be played in Arlington at 8:03 p.m. ET.
Ranger Suarez (PHI) pitches against Brandon Pfaadt (ARI) in the NL game. Jose Urquidy (HOU) pitches against Andrew Heaney (TEX) in the AL game.
