Philadelphia Phillies' Trea Turner Does Something Not Seen in More Than 15 Years of Baseball History

The Philadelphia Phillies throttled the Washington Nationals on Saturday by a score of 12-3. The star of the game was infielder Trea Turner, who went 2-for-5 with two home runs and two RBI.
After the big day, Turner is now hitting .250 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI. He's also added 22 stolen bases during his first year in Philly and has posted a .707 OPS.
The two home runs by Turner accounted for some special baseball history, as they both occurred in the same inning.
Per ESPN Stats & Info:
Trea Turner is the 6th player to record multiple HR in a single inning off the same pitcher in the Expansion Era (since 1961).
He’s the first to do it since David Ortiz in 2008.
Trea Turner is also the 3rd player in the Expansion Era (since 1961) to hit multiple HR in the same inning vs a former team.

The other two were Alex Rodriquez in 2007 vs. the Mariners and Mike Cameron in 2002 vs the White Sox.
And there was more history made as well:
Trea Turner is also the 3rd player in the Expansion Era (since 1961) to hit multiple HR in the same inning vs a former team.
The other two were Alex Rodriquez in 2007 vs. the Mariners and Mike Cameron in 2002 vs the White Sox.
Turner spent 6.5 years in Washington before being traded during the 2021 season to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He helped the Nationals win the 2019 World Series.
Lifetime, he's a .295 hitter with 138 home runs and 480 RBI. He also played for Team USA this past spring during the World Baseball Classic.
After the win, the Phillies are 67-56. They currently own the top wild card spot in the National League playoff picture.
They'll play the Nationals again on Sunday as part of the Little League Classic. The two teams will play this game in Williamsport, Penn.
