Trea Turner's power surge is alive and well.

The Philadelphia Phillies shortstop crushed his 25th home run of the season in the front end of a double-header against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. The Phillies were able to force extras on a ninth-inning home run from Bryce Harper that also plated Turner, but they still fell to the best team in baseball 10-8.

Turner has now belted 10 home runs in his last 11 games, after hitting just five across his previous 41 appearances.

According to MLB.com's Sarah Langs, Turner becomes the second player in Phillies history with 10 or more home runs in an 11-game span. The only player in franchise history to do it before Turner was Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt in 1976.

On a league-wide scale, Langs also reported that Turner is only the second shortstop in MLB history to hit 10-plus home runs in an 11-game span. Troy Tulowitzki became the first to do so with the Colorado Rockies back in 2010.

Turner entered 2023 as a career .302 hitter, but he is batting just .266 with the Phillies this season. Additionally, Turner's .783 OPS is falling notably shy of the .842 mark he posted with the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Still, Turner has endeared himself to the more hopeful Phillies fans just a few months removed from signing an 11-year, $300 million contract with the team.

Philadelphia currently holds the top NL Wild Card spot at 78-65, and the club's 19-14 record since Aug. 5 is fifth-best in the National League in that time. Turner's .381 batting average and 1.253 OPS during that span has played a major role in the Phillies' winning ways as they try to return to the World Series for the second year in a row.

The Phillies and Braves are slated to wrap up their double-header Monday starting at 6:40 p.m. ET, then face off again Tuesday and Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park at the same time.
