Turner went 2-for-3 in the loss with a home run, which was his 23rd of the season. Turner was just brought back from the paternity list before the game, so he clearly brought that dad strength with him.
In his first year with the Phillies, Turner is now hitting .265. In addition to the 23 homers, he has 68 RBI, 26 stolen bases and an OPS of .774.
In his ninth year in the big leagues overall with the Nationals, Dodgers and Phillies, he's a career .297 hitter with 147 homers.
He's a two-time All-Star, a Silver Slugger winner, a batting champion and a World Series champion after helping the Nationals win the 2019 Fall Classic.
Turner has also represented Team USA at the World Baseball Classic, which was held in the spring of 2023.
He signed an 11-year contract this past offseason which will keep him in Philadelphia until 2033.
After the loss, the Phillies are 77-63. They lead the chase for the top spot in the National League wild card race by 2.0 games over the Chicago Cubs.
The Marlins are 0.5 games back of the final spot after the win.
The two teams play again on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. ET.
