The Philadelphia Phillies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night in Game 6 of the NLCS. This forces a Game 7 to be played on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

As Game 7 gets set to commence, there's some amazing history at play for the Phillies.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

The D-backs beat the Phillies to force Game 7.

The Phillies have been a franchise since 1883 and this is the 1st time they will play a Game 7.

The D-backs have been around since 1998 and this is the 2nd time they will play Game 7 (beat Yankees in 2001 WS).

That's truly incredible for an organization that has been around that long - and has been as successful as they have. The Phillies are seeking their second World Series appearance in as many years, having lost to the Houston Astros last season.

They are seeking their first title since the 2008 season when they beat the Tampa Bay Rays.

If they are going to win game 7 and get back to the World Series, they'll be relying on the left arm of Ranger Suarez. The southpaw is 1-0 this postseason with a 0.64 ERA.

He'll be opposed by rookie Brandon Pfaadt, who pitched great for Arizona in Game 3. He's 0-0 with a 2.13 ERA this postseason.

First pitch is set for 8:07 p.m. ET. The winner of this series will get the Texas Rangers, who beat the Astros in the ALCS on Monday night.

The World Series begins Friday.
