Juan Soto of the San Diego Padres Just Keeps Climbing This All-Time List

With another home run on Monday night, San Diego Padres' outfielder Juan Soto just keeps climbing up this elite list in baseball history.

The San Diego Padres beat the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night 11-8 as they try to avoid being mathematically eliminated from the playoff race.

At 68-77 and 8.0 games back in the wild card race, it seems inevitable that San Diego will miss the playoffs this year, but credit to them for still trying.

In the win, Padres star Juan Soto hit his 29th home run of the season. He went 3-for-5 with four RBI and is now hitting .260 with the 29 homers and 89 RBI. He's posted an impressive OPS of .888.

With the home run, Soto continues to move up an impressive all-time list in baseball history. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

Juan Soto now has 154 career HR, tied for 11th-most before turning 25, behind only:

Eddie Mathews: 190

Mel Ott: 176

Jimmie Foxx: 174

Mickey Mantle: 173

Ken Griffey Jr: 172

Alex Rodriguez: 172

Albert Pujols: 160

Frank Robinson: 160

Mike Trout: 160

Andruw Jones: 156

Soto doesn't turn 25 until after the season ends so he'll have the rest of the season to add to his impressive resume.

Because Soto is in his sixth year in the big leagues, it's hard to remember just how young he is. Having made his debut at the age of 19, he's already a three-time All-Star, a three-time Silver Slugger, a batting champion, a Home Run Derby champion and a World Series winner (2019).

The Padres and Dodgers will play again on Tuesday at 10:10 p.m. ET as Michael Wacha (SD) pitches against Lance Lynn (LAD).
