Seattle Mariners Accomplish Random But Awesome Baseball History During 7-Game Win Streak

No one in baseball history has ever put up numbers like the Seattle Mariners have put up over the last seven games.

The Seattle Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox on Monday night by a score of 14-2.

The win moved the M's to 70-55 on the season and kept them in possession of the third and final wild card spot in the American League. They are 1.0 game ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays and 4.0 games ahead of the Boston Red Sox.

Seattle is seeking its second consecutive playoff berth after falling in the American League Division Series in 2022 (to the Astros).

They've won seven games in a row and have gone 32-13 over their last 45 games. The last seven games in particular have been a stretch that no team in baseball history has ever replicated.

Per @OptaSTATS on social media:

The @Mariners during their current 7-game winning streak:

93 hits

39 extra-base hits

17 home runs

13 stolen bases

No other team in MLB history has reached all of those numbers over a 7-game span.

With those home run and steal numbers, it's clear that the Mariners have diversified their offense. They've gotten generally more athletic since getting Dylan Moore back from the injured list and acquiring Josh Rojas at the trade deadline, and have seen Julio Rodriguez go on his own personal tear.

The Mariners will look for their eighth straight win on Tuesday night when they play the White Sox again.

First pitch is set for 8:10 p.m. ET as rookie Bryan Woo pitches against veteran Mike Clevinger.

Woo is just coming off the injured list and is 1-3 with a 4.75 ERA.
