Seattle Mariners' Third Baseman Hits a Very Impressive Career Milestone on Tuesday

With his 20th home run of the season on Tuesday, Seattle Mariners' third baseman Eugenio Suarez now has seven 20-home run seasons in the first 10 years of his career.

The Seattle Mariners got a much-needed win on Tuesday night, pummeling the Los Angeles Angels 8-0.

The win gave Seattle its 80th win of the year and moved them to 80-65. As a result, the M's pulled into a tie with the Toronto Blue Jays for the third and final wild card spot in the American League.

They are looking for their second playoff berth in as many years and are looking for their second berth since 2001.

In the victory, Mariners third baseman Eugenio Suarez hit his 20th home run of the season. Hitting the 20-homer mark put him in a great class in baseball history.

Per @StatsCentre:

Most times reaching the 20+ home run mark as a 3rd baseman - Player's first 10 career MLB seasons:

10- Eddie Mathews

8- Ken Boyer

8- Ron Santo

8- Mike Schmidt

8- Scott Rolen

7- @Mariners Eugenio Suarez

7- Troy Glaus

7- Eric Chavez

7- Evan Longoria

7- Kyle Seager

7- Nolan Arenado

Considering that several of those players are Hall of Famers or future Hall of Famers, that's elite company to be in. Suarez has struggled with the average this year, hitting just .234, but he does have 87 RBI to go along with this 20 homers. He's posted an OPS of .717.

He's in his 10th season with the Tigers, Reds and Mariners. He was traded to Seattle before the 2022 season.

The Mariners will play the Angels again on Wednesday afternoon.

First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. ET as Luis Castillo gets the ball for the M's.
