Texas Rangers' Bruce Bochy Moves into Top 10 All-Time in Managerial Wins
The Texas Rangers beat the division-rival Seattle Mariners on Sunday by a score of 12-3. The offensive barrage helped the Rangers make some baseball history, but that wasn't the only history being made.
With the win, Rangers manager Bruce Bochy moved into the Top-10 all-time in terms of managerial wins.
He's now got 2,041 career wins, which ranks No. 10.
Per Inside the Rangers: The managers ahead of Bochy are Connie Mack (3,731), Tony LaRussa (2,846), John McGraw (2,763), Bobby Cox (2,504), Joe Torre (2,326), Sparky Anderson (2,194), Bucky Harris (2,158), Baker (2,128) and Joe McCarthy (2,125).
Bochy is in his 26th year as an MLB manager, spending 13 years with the San Francisco Giants, 12 with the San Diego Padres, and this one with the Rangers.
He is actually under .500 for his career, going 2,041-2,049 in the regular season. He has been to the World Series four times, winning three of them. He won in 2010, 2012 and 2014 with the Giants and lost in 1998 with the Padres.
The Rangers certainly seem to have a chance to add to that resume this year. Armed with the best offense in the sport, they are relentless at the plate.
The Rangers are seeking their first playoff appearance since 2016 and with an offense like this, they are certainly primed to get it. But it's not just the offense. After signing Jon Gray, Martin Perez, Jacob deGrom, Andrew Heaney and Nathan Eovaldi over the last two offseasons, the pitching has been good too.
The Rangers are now 38-20 on the year and in first-place in the American League West.
