The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-5 on Friday night to win Game 1 of the World Series.

The win moves the Rangers to just three wins away from the organization's first title. The D'Backs are looking for their second title and first since 2001.

It was a thrilling victory for Texas, who had an early 2-0 lead, only to blow it. They were trailing 5-3 in the ninth inning when Corey Seager hit a game-tying two-run home run and then won it in the 11th when Adolis Garcia pumped a game-winner.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

2001 G4 Yankees v AZ

If it's any consolation, Diamondbacks fans, the team did win that '01 series against the Yankees. Maybe the same fate can happen here.

Garcia has become an absolute menace in these playoffs. After taking home the ALCS MVP award, he's now hitting .357 in these playoffs with eight homers, 22 RBI and two steals. The 22 RBI are the most already in a single postseason, and we have potentially six more games to play.

As for Seager, he's hitting .327 with four homers and eight RBI in these playoffs.

Game 2 of the series will be played on Saturday night. First pitch from Arlington is set for 8:03 p.m. ET as Merrill Kelly (ARI) goes against Jordan Montgomery (TEX).

Kelly is 2-1 with a 2.65 ERA this postseason while Montgomery is 3-0 with a 2.16.
