The Texas Rangers punched their ticket to the ALCS for the first time since 2011 on Tuesday night by beating the Baltimore Orioles 7-1.

The Rangers swept the 101-win O's and moved to a perfect 5-0 this postseason, having also swept away the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild card round.

By virtue of advancing to the ALCS, Rangers' manager Bruce Bochy has joined an elite club in baseball history.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com on social media:

Bruce Bochy is the 7th manager to reach the LCS with 3+ franchises

No manager has WON an LCS with 3 franchises at least, not yet…Bo

Bochy has now made the LCS with the San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants and the Rangers. He advanced to the World Series with the Padres (1998) and won three titles in San Francisco.

Bochy has 2,093 career regular season victories, which ranks him 10th all time.

Also per Langs:

most postseason rounds won, managers:

Joe Torre: 19

Tony La Russa: 16

Bruce Bochy: 15

There's no doubt that Bochy is one of the best managers of all-time and will be headed to the Hall of Fame at some point when his career is over.

The Rangers will have several days off while they await their ALCS opponent. They'll play either the Houston Astros or the Minnesota Twins.

The first game of the ALCS will be Sunday, either in Houston or Minneapolis.

The Rangers will have time to set up their pitching how they want, and could also get back Max Scherzer and Jon Gray for the series.
