The Texas Rangers punched their ticket to the World Series on Monday night by beating the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS.

The 11-4 drubbing was punctuated by home runs from Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia and Nate Lowe. It's the Rangers first trip to the World Series since 2011.

For manager Bruce Bochy, he's looking for his fourth World Series title. He's also made multiple instances of baseball history on this journey.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

Bruce Bochy was 43 when he reached the WS with SD in 1998

he’s 68 now

he’s the 2nd manager to reach a World Series at age 43 or younger as well as age 68 or older, joining Connie Mack CONNIE MACK

Bochy took the Padres to the World Series in 1998 when they were beaten by the New York Yankees and then also got there three times with the San Francisco Giants. The Giants won the title in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

One of the most successful managers in baseball history, he's won 2,101 career games and is surely headed for the Hall of Fame whenever he hangs up the cleats. He's spent 26 years in the dugout in his career.

Furthermore:

Bruce Bochy has a 5-0 all-time series record in League Championship Series and is the only manager in MLB history to win the pennant in each of his first five LCS visits

The Rangers don't know who they'll play yet in the World Series but it will either be the Phillies or the Diamondbacks. That series is headed to a Game 7 on Tuesday night.
