The Texas Rangers rolled over the Houston Astros 11-4 on Monday night to win Game 7 of the ALCS and advance to the World Series for the first time since 2011.

In the win, the Rangers hit four home runs, including one by shortstop Corey Seager, who went yard in the first inning off Cristian Javier.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

most HR as shortstop, postseason history:

Derek Jeter: 20

Carlos Correa: 18

Corey Seager: 16

That's pretty good company for Seager to be in, who also made several postseason runs with the Dodgers. He helped LA win the World Series during the COVID 2020 season. He's been to the playoffs in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and this year. He won NCLS and World Series MVP in 2020.

He went 3-for-5 in Game 7 and is hitting .333 these playoffs with three homers and six RBI. For his playoff career, he's a .252 hitter with the 16 homers and 42 RBI.

Signed to a massive $300+million contract before the 2022 season, Seager will absolutely be in the mix for the American League MVP this year. Though Shohei Ohtani of the Angels is expected to win it, Seager hit .327 with 33 homers and 96 RBI. He did all this in 477 at-bats, missing time because of a hamstring injury.

The Rangers don't know who they'll play yet in the World Series but it will be either the Arizona Diamondbacks or the Philadelphia Phillies.

The World Series will begin on Friday night.
