Detroit Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera is headed to the Baseball Hall of Fame when he's done playing, and he'll likely get there on the first ballot fairly easily.

And it's stats like this that show why.

On Wednesday night during the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels game, a graphic was used to show where Dodgers star Freddie Freeman ranks on the active hit list. Freeman is currently sixth, Cabrera is first.

As @CodifyBaseball said on Twitter "probably not too many times in history that the guy at the top of the active hits list was leading over 1,000"

But that's exactly what's happening now with Cabrera. His 3,118 career hits lead second-place Joey Votto (2,095) by more than 1,000 which is astonishing. Nelson Cruz is third, Elvis Andrus fourth and Andrew McCutchen fifth.

A .307 career hitter, Cabrera is part of both the 500 home run and 3,000 hit clubs. He's also a 12-time All-Star, a seven-time Silver Slugger, a four-time batting champion, a two-time MVP and a triple crown winner.

He's a free agent after this season and is going to retire.

He's limping to the end of his Hall of Fame career, hitting just .233 with a .313 on-base percentage. He's got one home run and 10 RBI.

The Tigers are currently 32-41 and in third place in the American League Central. They trail the first-place Twins by four games. Detroit is off on Thursday but will start a massive series with those Twins on Friday night at 6:40 p.m. ET at Comerica Park.
