Toronto Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman Joins Franchise Legends in Team Record Books
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Washington Nationals on Monday night by a score of 6-3.
While the Jays had five runs through the first three innings, the starting pitching performance of Jays ace Kevin Gausman was also part of the story.
The veteran righty went 5.0 innings, allowing just three runs. He struck out seven, which gave him a significant piece of team history.
Per ESPN Stats & Info:
Kevin Gausman is the 3rd pitcher in Blue Jays franchise history to record 200 strikeouts in consecutive seasons, joining Roy Halladay and Roger Clemens.
Gausman, who is in his second year in Toronto, is now 10-8 this season with a 3.30 ERA. He's struck out 202 batters in 155.1 innings.
