After winning the Home Run Derby on Monday night, Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has made baseball history by accomplishing something that no player has ever accomplished.

Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

The @BlueJays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr. becomes the first player to lead MLB in HR (2021), win the HR Derby (2023) & hit 4+ grand slams before turning 25.

Obscure and niche history? Sure. But we thrive in that space here at Fastball and FanNation.

It's been a great start to a career for Guerrero Jr., who is one of the most feared hitters in all of baseball. His numbers this year aren't eye-popping but perhaps the Derby will spur him into some momentum.

He's hitting .274 this season with 13 home runs for the Jays, who currently hold the third and final wild card spot in the American League.

Lifetime, he's a .282 hitter with 117 homers and he sits right in the middle of a potent Bue Jays order that also features George Springer, Brandon Belt and Bo Bichette.

In addition to his Derby win, Guerrero Jr. will also be appearing in the All-Star Game on Tuesday night. That begins at 8:00 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

The Jays will open up the second of the season on Friday, July 15 with a home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are currently in a tie for first place in the National League West. They are 52-39 this season and tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
