Trea Turner of the Philadelphia Phillies Continues His Massive and Unreal Power Run

The Philadelphia Phillies lost in extra-innings to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night but Trea Turner continued to do historic things at the plate.

The Philadelphia Phillies suffered a tough, extra-innings defeat on Tuesday night, losing to the Braves 7-6 in 10 innings.

The game had major implications on the National League playoff race as the Braves moved to 95-50. They are 6.5 games up on the Los Angeles Dodgers for the No. 1 seed in the looming NL playoffs.

The loss put the Phillies at 79-66 and while they remain in the first wild card position, they are just 1.5 games ahead of the Cubs for that spot.

Despite the loss, Phillies shortstop Trea Turner continued his epic offensive run, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. He also hit his 26th home run of the season.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Trea Turner is the 3rd Phillies player to hit 11 HR in a 13-game span, joining 2006 Ryan Howard and 1976 Mike Schmidt.

After a slow start this season, he's now hitting .272 overall and .395 over his last 30 games. In addition to the 26 homers, he's got 75 RBI and 27 stolen bases. His home run on Tuesday was also the 150th of his career.

He's in his ninth big league season, and his first with the Phillies.

He's a two-time All-Star, a Silver Slugger winner, a batting champion and a World Series champion after helping the Nationals win the 2019 Fall Classic.

Turner has also represented Team USA at the World Baseball Classic, which was held in the spring of 2023.

He signed an 11-year contract this past offseason which will keep him in Philadelphia until 2033.

The Phillies will play the Braves again on Wednesday night. First pitch is 6:40 p.m. ET.
