On Monday night at Target Field in Minneapolis, the Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins, 9-3.

It was the fifth win in a row for Boston, who won three games in two days after a doubleheader sweep of the Yankees on Sunday.

It also moved the Sox to 38-35 on the year and put them at just 1.5 games back in the Wild Card race.

And the win also created some history for Sox manager Alex Cora, who earned his 400th career win as manager.

Per @SoxNotes on Twitter:

Tonight was Alex Cora’s 400th win as Red Sox manager. He is 1 of only 9 managers in franchise history to reach that mark.

Cora is only 55 wins shy of cracking the top 5:

5. Jimmy Collins (455)

6. John Farrell (432)

7. Jimy Williams (414)

8. Don Zimmer (411)

9. Alex Cora (400)

The account also notes that Cora has the third-highest winning percentage of Sox managers with at least 400 wins.

Among managers to win 400 games with the Red Sox, Cora ranks 3rd in win %:

Don Zimmer (.575, 411-304)

Terry Francona (.574, 744-552)

Alex Cora (.555, 400-321)

Jimmy Collins (.548)

Jimy Williams (.540)

Joe Cronin (.539)

John Farrell (.533)

Mike Higgins (.502)

Bill Carrigan (.494)

Cora is in his second tour of action with the Red Sox. He managed the team from 2018-2019 and led the Sox to the 2018 World Series. He was suspended for the 2020 season because of his role with the 2017 Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal and was rehired before the 2021 season. He led the Sox to the American League Championship series in that year.

The Red Sox will play the Twins on Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. ET.
