Aaron Judge Injury Update: Star Expects to Miss Next Few Days
New York Yankees star outfielder Aaron Judge expects to miss the next few days after leaving Thursday's game with right hip discomfort.
Erik Boland of Newsday tweeted:
"Judge said he expects to miss the "next couple of days." Said he isn't concerned. Felt the hip this morning when he got up. A result of the awkward head first slide from yesterday in Minneapolis."
Judge left the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, spurring panic on social media among fans.
Obviously, any significant loss of Judge would be catastrophic to the Yankees, who are already out Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson. Judge is one of the top offensive players in baseball and is the lead catalyst for the Yanks offensive attack. He hit an American League record 62 home runs a season ago while bringing in 131.
This year, he's out to another strong start. He's hitting .261 with six home runs and 14 RBI. He's also two stolen bases. Judge is a four-time all-star (2017-2018, 2021-2022), won MVP in 2022, Rookie of the Year in 2017 and has received MVP votes in four separate seasons. He's also a three-time winner of the silver slugger award.
Judge was replaced by Oswaldo Cabrera, who is currently hitting .216 on the season.
The Yankees entered play at 14-11 overall while the Rangers came in at 14-10 after being swept by the Cincinnati Reds.
