The New York Yankees have announced that star outfielder Aaron Judge left Thursday's game against the Texas Rangers with right hip discomfort.

There is no further information at this time, but Judge left the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, spurring panic on social media among fans.

Obviously, any significant loss of Judge would be catastrophic to the Yankees, who are already out Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson. Judge is one of the top offensive players in baseball and is the lead catalyst for the Yanks offensive attack. He hit an American League record 62 home runs a season ago while bringing in 131.

This year, he's out to another strong start. He's hitting .261 with six home runs and 14 RBI. He's also two stolen bases. Judge is a four-time all-star (2017-2018, 2021-2022), won MVP in 2022, Rookie of the Year in 2017 and has received MVP votes in four separate seasons. He's also a three-time winner of the silver slugger award.

As more information becomes available, we'll bring it to you. At the time of this posting, the Yankees lead the Rangers, 3-0, in the fifth inning. Gleyber Torres and DJ LeMahieu have homered in the game.

Judge was replaced by Oswaldo Cabrera, who is currently hitting .216 on the season.

The Yankees entered play at 14-11 overall while the Rangers came in at 14-10 after being swept by the Cincinnati Reds.
