One day after getting positive injury news on starting pitcher Max Fried, the Atlanta Braves have gotten positive news on starter Kyle Wright as well.

Braves reporter Grant McAuley put the following out on Twitter:

#Braves Kyle Wright continues to throw on flat ground, but is set to begin work off the mound soon. He is feeling good and excited to finally be progressing to bullpen sessions after two months on the shelf.

Since Wright hasn't moved to the mound yet, he's still a ways off, but he figures to be a factor for the Braves down the stretch, which would be massive.

Atlanta is already the best team in baseball at 60-29 so the idea of getting both Fried and Wright back just makes them even scarier.

The team will have to be careful with Wright though, as he's already been on the injured list twice this season with shoulder problems.

Wright is 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in limited action this season.

He had an unbelievable year in 2022, acting as the only 20-game winner in the National League. He went 21-5 to lead the league in wins and posted a 3.19 ERA in just over 180 innings. He finished 10th in the National League Cy Young voting and helped the Braves win the National League East.

Atlanta starts the second half of the season on Friday against the Chicago White Sox. They'll do so with the division well in hand, as they lead the National League East by 8.5 games.
