Houston Astros Star Exits Game Early With Nervewracking Injury

The Houston Astros are holding their breath on Thursday night as star Yordan Alvarez left the game against the Toronto Blue Jays early with injury.
The following comes from the RotoWire fantasy baseball portal:
Alvarez exited Thursday's game against the Blue Jays with right oblique discomfort, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Alvarez was pulled from the game in the third inning after one plate appearance. He was serving as the designated hitter, so the issue presumably occurred during his lone plate appearance of the game. Corey Julks entered the game in his place.
We don't want to jump to conclusions, so we'll just say this. A loss of Alvarez would be devastating to the World Champions. He is among the most feared hitters in the entire game and helps make the Astros lineup formidable.
He's hitting .272 right now with 17 homers and 55 RBI. He's also posted a .963 OPS. His 55 RBI are the best in all of baseball while he's tied for fourth in home runs.
It would also be a devastating loss because the Astros are trying to track down the Texas Rangers in the American League West. The Astros entered play on Thursday at 36-26 and 4.5 games behind the idle Rangers, who are 40-21.
At the time of this posting, the Astros trail the Blue Jays, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Alvarez is a lifetime .293 hitter with 115 homers and 338 RBI. He made his major league debut in 2019 and previously played in the Dodgers organization.
