After getting some optimistic news on starting pitcher Walker Buehler and his health, the Los Angeles Dodgers also got some good news on starting pitcher Dustin May on Wednesday.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

May (forearm) played catch Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

ANALYSIS
May has been on the injured list since May 18 with a right forearm strain, and Wednesday marks the first time he's thrown since then. There is still no plan in place for May to return, but it is certainly a positive sign to see him throwing once again. The 25-year-old righty held a 2.63 ERA and 0.94 WHIP through 48 innings across nine starts before getting injured.

It's a relief to see him throwing again as May has dealt with serious injuries in the past. He missed most of the 2021 and 2022 seasons after dealing with Tommy John surgery.

In addition to the great stats mentioned above, May is 4-1 this season.

For his career, the right-hander is 12-9 with a 3.10 ERA. He's thrown 191.2 career innings at the big league level.

At the time of this posting, the Dodgers lead the Colorado Rockies, 6-4, in the top of the fifth inning. Mookie Betts has hit his 20th home run of the season for Los Angeles.

If the Dodgers are able to win, they'll move to 45-34. They entered play at 3.0 games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League West. They'll play the Rockies again on Thursday at 8:40 p.m. ET.
