The Milwaukee Brewers, who enter the second half of the season at one game back in the National League Central, will have to wait a while longer to get back rotation member Brandon Woodruff.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said in an interview on MLB Network on Friday that Woodruff (shoulder) should be ready to rejoin the rotation "within the next month or so," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

ANALYSIS
Woodruff threw another bullpen session Thursday, which went "great," per Arnold. The right-hander was shut down for a bit a couple weeks ago because he wasn't recovering well in between throwing sessions, but it would appear he's back on track. Woodruff has been sidelined since mid-April due to a Grade 2 subscapular strain and is surely going to need multiple rehab starts before being activated.

It's certainly good news that Woodruff appears able to rejoin the rotation this season - and that he can help the Brewers push for the playoffs - but a lot can still happen in a month with regards to the standings. The hope is that Woodruff is coming back to meaningful baseball, but only time will tell.

He was 1-0 this season with a 0.79 ERA before getting injured.

The Mississippi State product is in his seventh year in the big leagues. He owns a lifetime 42-25 record with a 3.14 ERA.

The Brewers begin the second half on Friday with a series against the Reds, the team that they trail in the National League Central.
